have you had a moment that reminded you of someone you haven't talked to in a long time? like, everything was fine and all of a sudden you hear a song or see a commercial on tv and it all comes flooding back.

so weird.

i had a bizarro feeling like that last night, and it was like all of a sudden, i could've been there, and i just froze, standing, and then it was sort of gone.

it was so weird. i was sitting at a red light (pensacola and ocala) and a song came on the radio and it was so much like what i felt when i was finally ready to leave joey. and it was a country song at that. i hate country songs. anyway, i was listening to the song and just started to cry. it was like it was all happening again or something... so weird.

my poor aimee. *hug*

country songs are terrible but, if i were to be honest with myself, i only try to keep away from them because they make me too emotional.

i'm already emotional without the aide of twangy auditory support.

how are you feeling right now? because sometimes we get caught up in those moments of memory and emotion and they either linger or they just flicker in and flicker out.

I teach about those in my psychology class. Its called 'episodic memory' the idea is that our memories are stored as a loose collection of data (think of the junk drawer in your kitchen). You retrieve one memory, say a song's lyrics, and everything else in the drawer comes out with it.
