Project Runway will probably be the death of me, but it's possibly the best show to ever grace my television. i laughed, i cried, and then i talked to Melissa about it for 2 hours.

the challenge was "create a pageant dress for Miss USA" (which should have been called "let Kayne win" but whatever) and they (of course) picked the guy who does this for a living. cliché, but acceptable. the part that got me was the crazy ending where the useless/irritating designer got to stay and the really impressive designer got kicked. jigga-what? Malan is more irritating, but you have to admit he has mad design skillz. and the whole "i just want my mommy to love me" thing kicked my ass in 2 different ways (damn you editors!) so i have to say i wish Malan could have stayed on as the villain to irritate me with that horrible accent and stories of unattained approval.

edit: you can see each of the garments here and an episode recap here and hilarious commentary here

I know, right!

I kind of liked Malan. He seemed like a bitchy old fop who'd make for some good commentary. Unfortauntely, I was paying close attention to my kniting and just listening, so I didn't see much of the finished pieces.

They just need to get rid of the guy with the neck tattoo. And then shoot him. In the neck tattoo. Though I bet they pull another Santino and keep him around way too long.

I hate hate hate hate hate that they kept Angela. Dude, she DIDN'T EVEN SKETCH, and then she tried to work other people into partnering with her. Who fucking does that except a talentless individual who's afraid of failing? The guy she was paired with, What's His Ass, is ANNOYING, and I hate how they made it seem like Angela didn't defend herself. Though if she didn't, that's entirely STUPID. I would have been like, "um, the nightmare of his life? The bitch wouldn't let me TOUCH the dress."

Anyway, I actually wish Malan could have stayed. I nearly cried when he practically dropped to his knees and screamed, "mommy!!!!"
